Earbuds Pitch!
The Earbuds Pitch! competition is designed to give
established indie talent and emerging podcasters the
opportunity to pitch their new show ideas at the Outlier Podcast
Festival | Virtual Summit.
The application period will run from August 15th until September 14th.
Five finalists will pitch their shows on
September 16th via Zoom to a panel of independent judges within the Outlier Podcast Festival Facebook page. The winner will receive
a podcast startup package (details below).
Timeline:
August 15th - Call for submissions
September 14th - Submissions close
September 15th - Finalists notified
September 16th - Live event in which finalists make their pitches
in front of a panel of judges via Zoom.
The winner is announced at the conclusion of the festival.
Eligibility:
The EarBuds Pitch competition is open to anyone able to attend
Outlier Podcast Festival. Their show must be new or less than
6 months old.
Winners will receive:
1 Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Studio (Scarlett 2i2, Headphones, Condenser Mic, and Mic Cable )

What we’re looking for in a pitch:
OutlierHQ, a media and events company, is looking for outliers
with original show ideas. All eligible submissions will be evaluated on the following three criteria:
Creativity
Diversity
Durability
The Pitch:
2 minutes to pitch your show
3 minutes of Q&A from the judges
How to enter:
Submit a pitch that includes the following information:
1) Your elevator pitch for the show.
2) Who is your audience? Be specific.
3 )What type of show? Interview, scripted? How many hosts or main characters? Segments?
4) What is the vibe of the show?
5) What experiences and skills do you bring to the project?
7) Optional: Submit a sample of your work. Samples can take
any form including text, video, or audio.

The Outlier Podcast Festival is a traveling national event held in major cities across the U.S. It provides outliers in the podcasting community an intimate opportunity to collaborate with both Indie talent and industry giants.
We provide an immersive experience for you to engage with keynote speakers, participate in breakout sessions, and interact with the newest software and audio equipment. You’ll have the opportunity to bring questions to the experts during panel discussions, listen in during live podcasts, and join the conversation with other media disrupters.
